When a machine or person performs a production job that does not add direct value to the product or prevents another, productive job from being done, you are practically throwing money down the drain. However, these types of misses and money sinks can be stopped to make the production more efficient.
Edufix offers various solutions to optimise your production: our product selection includes high-quality cutting fluids, measuring instruments and preset devices, among others. In addition to these, we are constantly developing methods to make the operation of machinery more accurate and user-friendly. Example of such methods are the monitoring of a spindle’s machining power and the oscillation of spindle speed.
Our method for monitoring the machining power of a spindle is based on measuring the load on the spindle during machining. The operator can have the system “learn” the load on the tool quickly and easily. During the learning, control limits for the automatically used tool are set in the tool chart. During load monitoring, an overload prompts the system to either switch to single-drive, or, if the load keeps growing, trigger the NC-Stop function. This prevents greater damages (such as a U drill melting into the workpiece) when the load on the tool grows. This function is available for HEIDENHAIN iTNC530 controls with NC software 340 490 01 or newer.
Problems related to vibration arise with large machines and large or otherwise vibration-prone workpieces. However, vibration can be prevented by fluctuating the rotation speed of the spindle. This is what the automatic oscillation of spindle speed is for. In this method, the rotation speed of the spindle is changed with a ±% value from the set speed and with a desired speed setting. This can also be done on a tool-by-tool basis. This function is available for HEIDENHAIN iTNC530 controls with NC software 340 490 01 or newer.
